SaniShop

Figures released by UNICEF & WHO indicate that 2.6 billion people are without access to adequate, clean sanitation – that’s a staggering 40 per cent of the world’s population.

So what are we at WTO doing about it? We don’t believe in charity or handouts, instead we strongly believe in self help, social entrepreneurship and private market solutions. Hence, SaniShop is developed.

The SaniShop Concept

SaniShop is a social franchise model whereby WTO provides a quality brand free of charge to entrepreneurial thinking people on the ground.

The SaniShop model drives down the cost of toilets to an affordable price, thereby creating a demand for a product that millions of people in developed economies take for granted.

WTO engages vendors to supply materials for our toilet unit. We also engage manufacturers to make the moulds and deliver free of charge.

We also provide trainings to assist them to become franchisees and support them in developing and enhancing their professional skill sets. The franchisees increase their opportunities for gaining a self-sustainable and regular household income.

We also collaborate with product designers and sanitation technology experts around the world to ensure modern and efficient products and proper installation through SaniShop.

SaniShop provides marketing and sales training courses to local suppliers focusing on improving their businesses. Our practical training sessions train suppliers on how to provide services as well as build, maintain and repair facilities.
