Disaster and Emergency Sanitation Course (DESC)
 The Disaster and Emergency Sanitation course (DESC) concentrates on the immediate sanitation and hygiene precautions to be taken in-case of emergencies and disasters. The topics of concern are divided into four categories:
- Health risks linked to drinking-water and sanitation;
- Health risks due to bad sanitary conditions and stagnant water;
- Immediate actions that should be taken in respect of water, hygiene, and sanitation;
- and the nature of response to sanitation & hygiene during emergencies.
Who should attend: Disaster mitigation team, emergency response personnel, defense personnel and management and policy staff of disaster response organizations
Duration: 1 - 3 days, customized to the need of the target group
