The Global Interfaith Wash Alliance and World Toilet Organization conducted a 4 day training from 23-27th Jan through its World Toilet College project. 25 participants from Laldhang gram panchayat in Haridwar District participated in it. Launch of the new WTO logo

WTO is pleased to announce that we are revamping our logo to make it more streamlined and easier to understand and use. The new brand mark will still consist of two elements, the unique heart-shaped toilet seat symbol and the world toilet wordmark. The colours also remain the same; the fresh sanitation blue representing trust, efficiency, reliability and care, while the playful purple representing innovation, creativity, friendliness and humor. Hand-washing and HandyPods in Cambodia’s Floating Villages

This month, four WTO staff members, along with representatives from philanthropic foundation Transparent Fish Fund and sanitary equipment specialist Wirquin, returned to the floating villages in Tonle Sap, Cambodia to follow up on all the great work Wetlands Work! (WW!) is doing to install floating toilets and introduce sanitation and hygiene education in six schools. Tampines Roadshow

Our second roadshow, following our first held in Jurong this April, was held next to Tampines MRT from 19 Nov to 4 Dec 2016 as part of our local advocacy efforts during this UN World Toilet Day. It is located beside the Uncle Ringo carnival and the local pasar malam and has attracted many heartlanders, whom, curious of our giant toilet balloon, walked into our exhibition and interacted with our staff. Updates on the Rainbow School Toilet Programme

Zhonghe Middle School, located in the Dongsong district of Luoning County in Henan Province, served as the second school to be installed with the Rainbow Toilets. Since its construction in late 2015, all 166 students and 16 faculty members have benefitted greatly from the modern facilities, transitioning from badly-lit and unhygienic dry-based facilities to flush toilets.

Working with WTO to transform the lives of school children in rural China

In August 2015, WTO transformed the toilet facilities of two schools in rural China benefiting over 300 students. These old school toilets were not connected to a flushing system, they had no hand-washing facility and the excreta disposal was located right behind the toilet building, uncovered and exposed to the environment.
